But here, in our little village of Anatevka,
you might say every one of us is a fiddler on the roof trying to scratch out a pleasant, simple tune without breaking his neck.

Well, we stay because Anatevka is our home.

再躲在背後，女人就要被屠夫搶走了！
幾番周折之後，父親總算首肯他們的婚事。
他覺得世界充滿奇蹟，心懷感激他可以娶到自己的珍愛。

爸爸為了說服妻子答應大女兒的婚事，
編織出一個夢境致使迷信的妻子相信，
屠夫的前妻反對屠夫娶大女兒。
這段的舞台效果跟表演都滿有趣的，哈哈哈哈。

本劇最知名的歌曲之一
夫妻感概小孩的成長以及不捨女兒出嫁的心情。

婚禮史上最催淚啊！
歌曲之後另加入猶太舞蹈慶祝婚禮，
可從音樂及舞蹈中看出濃濃的猶太風格。

與此同時俄國警官們也有來婚禮鬧事，
便是在這時又埋下了一顆不定時炸彈。
混亂後的場景，誰來收拾殘局？抑或會以悲劇收場？

直到後來父親得知二女兒以及革命青年表白互相愛對方，
父親開始生氣了，怎麼大家都違背傳統，
以為可以自由戀愛，而不需要父親的允許呢？
大女兒好歹也用了“苦求”的戲碼得到自己對他們婚姻的認可。
而二女兒卻說不需要父親的同意便遠走西伯利雅結婚？！
父親回家後問老婆，
Do you love me,
25年的婚姻是傳統的責任?
還是也有愛呢？
答案留給你自己想像。

二女兒為了追尋丈夫離開家園，
父親送女兒到車站時，女兒告訴父親自己的不捨，
但還是必須追尋自己的丈夫，希望父親了解。
父親用嗤之以鼻的聲音說出了Love?
女兒：yet, there’s my love I’m home.
現在我會覺得結婚，是要考慮現實面的。
沒有麵包這個基礎，百 事 哀 啊 ！
愛情很棒，可是也好抽象，
若也沒了家庭的後盾，即便還能生活，
內心也始終缺了一大塊吧？！

父親得知三女兒私自嫁給異教徒，心中無限茫然。
他不懂為何乖巧的女兒總是離他而去，悲哀及不解。
父親這次不再答應他們的婚姻，
他不能背棄他所相信的傳統，不能背棄族人啊！
想要女兒幸福，那麼傳統又有誰來遵循？
上面這兩首曲目都相當賺人熱淚！！！
我的淚在眼眶打轉，
前面的路人則是哭到包包都掉到前一排。

劇終之曲。
猶太村民被沙皇勒令離開小鎮，
歌詞盡是村民對小鎮的不捨以及對沙皇政令的不滿。

所以不被融合也不願與其他人融合。
歌劇背景在俄羅斯（Russia），
即便你與當地的長官處得很好，
但那不表示這個國家真心接受猶太族。
到處流浪的他們，四處飄蕩，處處為家，
"家"的重要性不言可諭，
女兒們走了，有了和丈夫的家。
即便悖離傳統，奔向愛情。但興許是好的歸宿。
